My Week so Far

As I am sure everyone who knows me and a huge amount of people that don't know me at all know its was my birthday on Tuesday so I thought I would keep everyone updated on my week.

I started my week with a short trip to Weston Super Mare. We headed there for breakfast and only stayed until around lunch time. I had a great time racing on the arcade games and trying to win a teddy bear in the grabbing machines ( I failed miserably at this). But there was one single thing that topped of my Monday and that was the banana split that I was treated to. Banana split's are my all time favourite desserts and this one was amazing.

I was spoilt like a princess on my actual birthday and I will post with pictures and details of all of the lovely gifts I received. On Tuesday evening I went for dinner with my two very best friend and it was so great.

This post was just a brief one to update people and to thank everyone who has sent gifts or birthday messages. I appreciate every single one.

Thank you

My Birthday Countdown

So as we get older birthdays seem to become a lot less important than they were when I was younger. Obviously there are the important ones like 18 and 21 but as I have passed both of these milestones I don't really have a big birthday to look forward to.

Why shouldn't I celebrate the one day that is all about me?

This year I am determined to enjoy my day as much as I can. All of my friends are working but I am sure that is not going to stop me in fact I am going to make it a whole birthday week and celebrate with everyone.

Today marks 6 sleeps until my birthday and I am getting myself very excited for treats and surprises.  Who doesn't love birthdays?

The Departed - J.A. Templeton

So I finally finished the third and kind of final book in this set. There is a fourth titled The MacKinnon Curse however I think that I am happy ending the series here. The third book was my favourite book of the three however all three of the books were just brilliant.

The Haunted introduced us to a stronger and braver Riley who wasn't as focused on boy drama as she has been in previous books. ( I personally enjoyed the relationships). I loved the girl power feel of this book and how Riley wanted to protect her friends. She managed to over come challenges with her dad and with herself and the limits of what I could handle on the scary front were pushed.

Its difficult to express how much I enjoyed this trilogy without talking about things that may spoil the experience for people who have not read this book so I will keep this short and sweet.

I loved this read

Mustangs, Birthday and Dollars

This is just a quick post to fill you in on everything that has happened recently and it is all (I think all) very exciting!!!

First off this last weekend we finished our Romeo and Juliet performance. The kids have been practising and working hard on the show for 6 months to get us stage ready and they were amazing.

We booked a hire car for Florida when we go next May and although we were conscious about the budget which is quickly decreasing we have booked a Convertible Mustang! which believe it or not is a compromise as Jon wanted something much more expensive and I just wanted to be able to enjoy the Florida sunshine. With only 10 months to go until the wedding and our honeymoon I am getting very excited about everything.

While we were booking the car in Thomas Cook we also bought our first lot of dollars! For me this is the most exciting thing ever! It looks just like monopoly money haha.

And finally it is my birthday coming up. I am going to be tuning a massive 26 and I am not excited about it however I did compile a few pictures of gifts that I would love to get in a dream world of course.

Thanks for reading

The Haunted by J. A. Templeon: Review

After being left with such a cliff hanger from The Deepest cut I absolutely could not wait to download and read the second in the series. I will say that I am tricky to please when it comes to sequels of any sorts including books as I often find the second of third books leave me feeling a little flat but not this one. My review is going to join the other 98% of people who have read this book and not just liked it but LOVED it!!

Firstly (and I know you shouldn't judge a book by its cover) but how beautiful is the girl on the front of these books?? in my opinion she is very pretty. This is not what I imagined Riley to look like but instead maybe Laria?

Laria is back and she means business!! The Deepest cut was pretty creepy but this has been taken to a whole new level of spook. I love how intense every single page is in this book and how poor Riley cant just catch a break from all of this ghostly goings on.

I love that even though she is so involved in the ghost world Riley still has her own teenage drama to deal with as well which I think makes her much more relatable and it is easy to empathise with her character.

At first I was unsure on the introduction of Kade however I like where the plot has taken their romance but still nothing has been easy for our Riley. I adore the relationship between Riley and Shane and it makes me wish I had that with my brothers.

I think these books so far have been scary, exciting and beautiful all at the same time which I don't think happens very often.

If I wasn't sold on book one then I am 100% in now I would recommend starting these books they are not only brilliant but creative and fresh.

Thanks again Miss Templeton for writing

The Deepest Cut - J.A Templeton

Sixteen-year-old Riley Williams has been able to see ghosts since the car crash that took her mother's life and shattered her family. Guilt-ridden over the belief that she's somehow responsible for her mom's death, Riley is desperate to see her mother's elusive spirit to gain her forgiveness.

When her father moves the family to Scotland so they can all start over, Riley believes her life couldn't get worse––that is until the ghost of nineteen-year-old Ian MacKinnon catches her purposely cutting herself. An uneasy truce quickly turns into friendship, and soon Riley's falling hard for Ian.

Riley believes her gift could help Ian end the curse that has kept him tied to the land for centuries, but that would mean letting him go forever and she's not sure she is strong enough to do that. As if her life wasn't complicated enough, the malevolent spirit of the woman who killed Ian returns and she'll stop at nothing to keep Riley from helping Ian find eternal peace.

I loved this book from the very beginning to the very end. Firstly its a free book on Amazon kindle but don't let that fool you. Its a romance and a horror all rolled into one with a few ghosties thrown in for good measure.

This book kind of like a twist on Ghost Whisperer. I liked that there was a nod to a few problems that teens face. (Cutting, Drinking, not fitting in etc) I think that this book really allowed me to feel for the characters. Yes the relationship between Riley and Ian happened quickly but when the sparks there time doesn't matter. This wasn't a negative for me because it stopped me getting bored of the will they wont they that happens in so many books. There were characters to suit everyone, good, bad and evil!! the scary bits were really quite scary and I'm not very easily spooked.

The deepest cut has had some negative reviews but I think people need to bare in mind that this book did not cost you anything! It has a great story and no it might not be everybodys cup of tea but who wants that anyway? Not me!!

I loved this book and have gone on to purchase the second book in the series. I have read books that are more popular than this that have worse stories or characters so I say well done Julia Templeton and thanks for providing me with a great read.

A little beauty review

I bought a few makeupy bits last week and today was the first chance I got to try them out. Wearing new makeup makes me very excited and these three things are 100% things I'm glad I purchased.

1. Eyeko's Skinny liquid eyeliner in black.

"The nib on it is the perfect shape and size and it gives you control. It gives you such precision and is the thing I find easiest to use when I'm drawing on eyeliner... which you know I'm addicted to."  Alexa Chung, VOGUE

- Moisturising Sodium Hyaluronate
- Intense single-stroke colour
- No smudging or fading
- Long-lasting
- Easy application
- Paraben-free formula
- Best used on clean, oil free lids

This is a fine liner as the name suggests and it is designed like a felt pen. These styles of eyeliner suit me best because of how easy they are to put on even if your a little bit wobbly. The colour is super dark and the style of the pen is so sleek that it has found its way into my handbag already. If you struggle with applying eyeliner I would definitely suggest this liner. I am yet to try exciting styles with my liner but I think that this pen may help me brave it out!! Love this!

2.  Collection 2000 - Big Fake Ultimate Mascara

Now with lengthening and volumising claims COLLECTION favorite Big Fake Mascara has been improved with a bigger, better & bolder formula than ever before to create the ULTIMATE Mascara!! Thicken, volumise and lengthen your lash-look with this best-seller. Plumps and stretches each individual lash without clumping or smudging, for a bigger, better lash-look.With a dual-benefit, water-resistant formula that provides luscious length and triples your lash volume
Boots.com

I accidentally picked this up in brown/black when I normally buy black and so I expected to be disappointed. I was pleasantly surprised. I have tried this for the last few days underneath my regular mascara and it has been great but today I wore it on its own and my eyelashes still feel big and long. The boots website even has a tutorial on how to wear it if your not sure.

3. New Kidd cosmetics - Lip and cheek tint

I was not expecting great things from this product because I have never used or heard of this brand before ( I'm sure I live under a rock). There is a lot of colour on this tint which I wasn't expecting as i have used other tints before with very little colour pay off. I found it very moisturising as well. I hate!!!!! the packaging for this product and I would not be brave enough to put this on my cheeks.

Thanks For reading.
