Review: W7 In the Buff

WhenI saw this palette online I just had to pick it up. The W7 In the Buff palette has 12 different neutral shades of eye shadow. Some are shimmery and some of the colours are matte. The style of this palette is similar to the Urban Decay palettes.

I got this palette online for £3.99 which is an absolute steal!

I love the metal tin that this palette comes in, I feel safe chucking it in my bag and I am not worried about it spilling the contents or getting broken.
The colours are lovely to work with and easy to blend together. I personally do not wear vey much eye shadow and so these colours are great for beginners like myself.

I loved this palette and don't know what bad things to say about it I mean sure Urban Decay is probably better but this is a fraction of the price.

Try it for yourself and let me know what you think

Review: False nails from primark

Now I'm not normally one for reviewing make up or beauty products because there are lots and lots of beauty bloggers that know much much more than I do about these kinds of things but I do love a bargain and if a product is good then I want to tell you about it!
Never before have I purchased any make up or beauty products from Primark before mostly because I stick to the brands and products that I like and that work for me but on a recent trip I saw that the Primark near me had an entire wall of false nails. There must have been over 50 different designs and lengths to choose from. Priced between £1 and £3 I decided to grab myself a pair and see how they go ( I was not holding out much hope). Normally I would go for a classic French manicure look so naturally this time I chose these.
I was obviously drawn to this cupcake design I mean its fun and a bit silly. I chose these because I loved them but like I said there were loads of different styles.

considering that these nails set me back £1 I had lots of enjoyment out of them. They are just as good as nails I have bought before for £8 and they come with a small tube of glue ( The same as other brands). For me personally they were a little bit long as I write at work but that would not be the case for everyone. I only wore them for one day but I got lots of compliments on them!

Honestly next time you need nails have a look. It might save you a few pounds.

Have you tried these? or bought any bargains yourself?

Review - Breo Bag Buddy

I received the Breo bag buddy last week and I was really excited to review it. I wanted to wait until I had given the watch a really good go before I told you all about it to see what worked and what didn't.

The Breo Bag Buddy can be bought in 4 different colours NavyPurple, Mint or Black. At only £15 they are very reasonably priced by anyone's standards especially with a whole collection of celebrities being seen wearing the Breo brand. These Bag Buddys are a new take on your standard wrist watch, In fact they do not go on you wrist at all but instead your bag as the name suggests.
Breo suggest clipping the watch onto your beach bag, backpack or belt loop and they are 100% right the Bag Buddy attaches to everything I have even had it attached to the handle of my dogs lead this week and that was brilliant. These watches are made from a durable rubber and so they can be given a bit of tough love, they are not just going to break if you knock it once.
The Bag Buddy is water resistant to 5ATM so it is fine in the shower and swimming but maybe not diving. It can withstand pretty extreme temperatures and I honestly can not think of a situation that the Bag Buddy is not suitable for.

I will love using this when I am travelling as I think the Bag Buddy is really handy. I am amazed at how easily this one little gadget makes my life much simpler.

When I received my Bag Buddy I attached it to my bag and carried on with everyday tasks to see how convenient it is. Usually I have my hands full and my phone at the bottom of my oversized handbag making checking the time almost impossible and with the increasing popularity of charm bracelets wearing a watch isn't always possible either. With the Bag Buddy it was so easy to check the time even with my hands full because the watch is on the outside of my bag.
I think the Bag Buddies are a much safer way of accessing the time if you are stopped by a stranger as in the past people would pull out an expensive Iphone or other smart phone and leave themselves open to theft and things where as it is so easy to access the time you do not even have to stop when using the Bag Buddy.

I'm hoping that Breo intend to bring out more colours as I would love to see a pink option but I am in love with the purple Bag Buddy I received.
If you would like your very own Bag Buddy then you can get one here.

From me its absolutely a 10/10 product.

Book Review: Pretties by Scott Westerfield

My last book review was for Uglies which is the first in this series of books and I was enjoying that book so when I had finished it I naturally progressed to the next in the series.
This book carries on where the previous one left off except now everyone is pretty. Tally is struggling with her memories of the smoke and is eventually torn between two boys.

If at all possible I thought this book was even better than the last one, it is ram packed with excitement and adventure. This book involves lots and lots of different characters but it isn't Difficult to remember who is who. Tally has several exciting adventures during this book and that alone keeps you wanting more.

This series is a little more complicated than your average young adult book however it is not so tricky that you have to concentrate really hard on it to keep up.

I have enjoyed this book more than the first and that is unusual as sequels are not normally as good, I will definitely be reading the third book in the series.

Have you read this book? Let me know what you think.

Get up early

For the last 10 day I have been up and at work before the crack of dawn which makes the day seem super duper long and my nights feel really short however I have promised this month I will try and be more positive about everything and so I have found that there are advantages to being an early riser.

1. Being up early can make you more pro active which allows you to take control!
2. Early Risers are better planners and we all want to be better organised I'm sure.
3. More optimistic. I'm not sure how true this is for me personally.
4. You get to see the sunrise (Its Beautiful)
If you get up early you don't have to rush as much, this seems obvious but this last week I have had time to choose and outfit and put on make up before I had to rush to leave for work. I also have had time for breakfast some mornings which is something I never had time for before.

If you want to start getting up early but struggle with the getting up part ( I still do) then here is a few tips:

1. start small - get up just 15 minutes earlier than normal and then another 15 minutes keep going until you have reached your target
2. Go to bed earlier - I like to read in bed so at bed time I go to bed and pick up my book
3. Reward yourself for getting out of bed early - with a smoothie or a yummy breakfast.

That was just a couple of tips there must be a million ways to help.

Thanks for reading

Review: Avon Nailwear Pro+

My little sister began selling for Avon this month and to show my support I bought a few items. I bought bubble bath, lipstick and an aragorn oil for my hair. I also ordered the Nailwear Pro+ which states that it changes any nail polish into a matte polish.

IT DOES! I didn't hold out much hope as it was only £3 and generally cheaper nail polishes are not really any good but this one does exactly what it says it is going to do. I only painted on one coat and it dried pretty quickly and as soon as it is dry it turns into a matte polish. I was really impressed at the difference it made and loved the finished nail.

Having the option to have matte nails means that one nail varnish has two separate effects and you can create different patterns.

In all this was a great buy and I am very happy with my purchase.

Reasons to like valentines

So as you all know today is Valentine ’s Day and I know that there are a lot of people who do not enjoy this day.  Here are a few reasons why everyone can love Valentines.

1.    Valentine’s Day is celebrated in most countries! So unlike some other special days we can all celebrate together all over the world.

2.    Its only one day and no I know that we shouldn't need a special day to show someone how we feel about them but for some people it may be the day to get the courage to tell someone you like them. Tomorrow will just be a normal day so make the most of today while it’s here. (Deep right?)

3.      It’s an excuse to watch romantic comedies, eat chocolate and drink wine! Need I say more?

If you are single or your partner is away of working like mine then why not celebrate Valentines with your friend. Here are some advantages of doing that.

1.      You do not have to get dressed up because they are used to seeing you in your pyjamas or jogging bottoms.

2.      You can drink lots and act like a fool and they will not care.

3.      You will be able to snack on your favourite treats without feeling guilty.

4.      You don’t have to shave your legs or wear make-up or do your hair!!

5.      You can have a good gossip

So enjoy your Valentines evening and tell someone (anyone) you love them even if it means being brave.

I love you all J

Strange Dreams - What do they mean?

So from time to time we all most of us have a strange dream or two and most of them we just wake thinking well that was a weird dream. I had one of these weird dreams the night before last and it left me curious as to the meaning.

In the dream I am back in my home town at the grave of my granddad (spooky right?) I am putting down yellow flowers when my phone rings its an old friend, someone I feel close to, we go for a walk in the woods but nobody talks. That's the basics of the dream anyway, I woke wanting to check that my friend was ok as its odd for me to dream of him, In fact he has never been in any of my dreams.

So I decided like a normal sane person to dissect the dream to come up with the meaning to hopefully make myself feel better.

SO I took the first part of my dream to be Home as I guess that's what the dream was getting at:
To see your home in your dream signifies security, basic needs, and values. You may be feeling at "home" or settled at your new job or environment. Alternatively, the dream represents your basic needs and priorities.
In particular, to see your childhood home, your hometown, or a home that you previously lived in, indicates your own desires for building a family and your family ideologies. It also reflects aspects of yourself that were prominent or developed during the time you lived in that home. You may experience some unfinished feelings that are being triggered by some waking situation. Alternatively, the dream may represent your outdated thinking.

Secondly I was at my Granddads Grave:
To dream that you are at a grave indicates that you need to delve into your own subconscious in search of an issue that you thought had been put to rest. You need to stand up for yourself for no one else can do it for you. Alternatively, it represents something is about to be completed in your life. You are leaving behind the old and making a new start. The dream may also be a pun on feeling grave or concerns about a serious or sad situation.

Thirdly my Friend:
To see an old ex-boyfriend from childhood in your dream refers to a freer, less encumbered relationship. The dream serves to bring you back to a time where the responsibilities of adulthood (or marriage) did not interfere with the spontaneity of romance
Alternatively, dreaming of a friend indicates positive news.
You may be wanting to escape the pressures and stresses of adulthood. Consider the relationship you had with this friend and the lessons that were learned.
To see friends from your past in your dream points to your desire to reconnect with a part of yourself that you have lost touch with.

Fourthly the woods:
the woods symbolize the unknown and the subconscious. You need to open yourself up to discovering your potential and your instinctual nature.
To dream that you are walking through the woods signify your return to an aspect of yourself that is innocent and spiritual.

and finally the silence:
To dream that someone is silent means that you are unsure about this person's intentions. Perhaps you are still trying to understand them. There may be a sense of uneasiness

So here is what I got. I am feeling uneasy about something ( not sure what but I am sure I will find out) and so my friend was in my dream as I am comfortable with them but I do not completely understand him. I am feeling innocent and spiritual and need to open myself for new things.

Basically I am none the wiser but it was fun finding out the meanings behind the dream.

Have you had any strange dreams? or do you understand dreams?

Review: Uglies - Scott Westerfeld

Uglies is a 2005 science fiction novel by Scott Westerfeld So i was a little late on the band wagon only just finishing this book now. It is set in a future post-scarcity dystopian world in which everyone is turned "Pretty" by extreme cosmetic surgery upon reaching age 16.
" It tells the story of teenager Tally Youngblood who rebels against society's enforced conformity, after her newfound friends Shay and David show her the downsides to becoming a "Pretty". They show Tally how being a "Pretty" can change not only your look but your personality.
Written for young adults, Uglies deals with adolescent themes of change, both emotional and physical. The book is the first installment in what was originally a trilogy, the Uglies series, which also includes the books PrettiesSpecials, and Extras.
Under the surface, Uglies speaks of high-profile government conspiracies and the danger of trusting the omnipresent Big Brother. While the underlying story condemns war and all the side effects thereof, the true thrust of the story is that individual freedoms are far more important than the need for uniformity and the elimination of personal will."

I had started this book a couple of times before actually becoming caught up it this brilliant story. The novel is about a girl who wants to be the same as everybody else "Pretty" but her mind is changed when she tries to save a friend.

The story is constantly exciting skipping over any sections that could become boring and that are not needed for the story!. The characters are a great mix of ages and although it is a young adult the concept is more grown up than Twilight or Harry potter

I will be continuing with the trilogy

Elysian by Addison Moore Review

This book is the last in a wonderful series. Skyla has in previous books discovered amazing things about herself and her friends. She has found her real mum and contacted her dead father now if that isn't exciting enough for you there is also a very intense love triangle.

If I am honest I enjoyed books 1-7 much more than I did book 8 as I felt it covered much of the same ground as the other books. The thing that kept me reading is the need to know who Skyla picks out of the three boys. I had already invested so much time in the previous books that there was no way i would have been able to stop knowing there is more to the story.

Addison Moore is not only beautiful but she has a writing style that suits me well, I enjoy a read with lots going on. I read this book on my kindle but the covers of the books are just beautiful all black with the stunning blue pictures. this makes me want to purchase the hard copies just to have on my bookshelf.

If you have not read anything from this series of books it is worth starting them you will be hooked.

Have you already read this series? what did you think?

First of the month.

First off happy February to everyone.

Where did January go so quickly? every month I am surprised at how quickly the last one went by. I wanted to begin to try and get more out of each month so that I can look back at my achievements at the end of the month.

I wanted to start this month off by setting myself a few little goals to be completed by the end of the month.

  1. Begin and finish a new book
  2. Do at least one crafty thing.
  3. Try and save not spend for the whole month (this will be the hardest task)
  4. To finish writing at least one chapter of my book
  5. To sort out at least some wedding stuff
Do you have any goals you wish to accomplish this month?
