Logo Billionaire Review

Yesterday was Christmas and as a tradition at the night time we play board games in the evening. One of us usually gets a new board game as a gift and that is the game we play. This year it was Logo Billionaire.

I had seen this game advertised and if i'm honest i was not very excited about it.

We popped the box open and got going, like all new games it was complicated to begin with. Nobody really understood the rules and what we were supposed to be doing. The aim of the game is to create companies and earn a Billion (I think).

We muddled through and after a little while and a little wine we were beginning to enjoy ourselves.

In all I will not say that this is my favourite game it is no contest Monopoly wins every time but it could be more fun if you have a proper sit down with the rules.

Working on Christmas day

For those of you who like me are working on Christmas day or have worked Christmas day this year and are feeling a little bit glum about it, Cheer up.

For those of you who like me have had a strop and a paddy about having to be professional and wear anything other than pyjamas on this day that should be dedicated to getting drunk eating chocolate and stuffing our faces, Don't be sad.

To begin with i hated the idea that I had to work, I work in a hotel you see and we do not close EVER!! I did not want to read about how every one was enjoying themselves on facebook and how many presents everyone had because I was miserable. So far though my Christmas has actually turned out great, I got up early and opened my presents for my Fiance and my Mum and Dad ( Brothers included) . I opened the presents that my crazy family had got for my puppy. Had some Breakfast ( Crumpets - YUM) and set off to work.

Everybody is in the Christmas spirit and it has made working not so bad.

At 3 pm when I finish I will be heading over to My Fiancés parents to have dinner and open more presents. There will be food and games and surprises i'm sure.

I get to see my family on Boxing day to eat more food, play more games and give them their presents ( which i love doing just as much receiving gifts).

I guess the moral of my little post is to make the most out of a bad situation, Having to work has made the time i am at home more special.

for those of you that do not have to work today MERRY CHRISTMAS

and those of us that do MERRY CHRISTMAS WEEK :)

Puppy Day one

So our first night went a little like this.

We bought a puppy collar to get Louis used to wearing a collar for walks and things. He let me put it on him and was excited when I got his lead on but once i started trying to walk (more like a drag) he point blank refused, he was a little easier once we had gotten him outside but he still was not happy about it. Louis spent the next half an hour figuring out different was to try and remove his collar

I have a new little shadow, i first noticed when I got up to make a drink that Louis had gone quiet which made me suspicious as to what he was up to, I found him sat just behind me staring at me. Louis sits outside the bathroom, the Bedroom, the Kitchen everywhere I go he wants to be.

Louis invented a new game yesterday, mostly it involves pouncing on nothing on the floor but in my fingers are dangling over the edge of the sofa then they become the target for a pounce too. We also like to pick up the Puppy Pads and carry them around in his mouth until I take it off him and put it back, he has not used the Puppy Pads to wee on yet they are just a fun toy. hopefully he can figure out what they are for soon enough.

During my attempts to get Louis to go to the toilet out in the garden I have discovered my puppy hates it outside, he just stands at the door begging me to let him go back inside. he will not do his business out there yet or play or stay out there with out crying. He does enjoy seeing his reflection in the door on the glass on the way in though.

Last night was his first night sleeping with us. I decided to let him sleep in the front room in a crate as that is where I want him long term, To be honest I was expecting it to be a huge nightmare. When I went to bed i tried to make as little fuss as possible so that he didn't get concerned, once i had left the room he cried a lot. I felt really bad but stayed in bed until he had stopped then realising i needed the loo i had to get up. Louis started to bark at me as he saw me head to the bathroom - I assume he was frightened as it was dark and he hadn't barked at me before. He stopped once he had realised it was me and I headed back to bed after a few more cries he went to sleep and i heard nothing all night.

This morning we i found he had a wee on his Puppy pad but otherwise no mess. He was super excited to see me so much so he just wanted to lick me all morning.

Exciting new addition to the clan

We Have a new puppy

We planned on getting a miniature daxi as they are super cute! honestly google them now if you don't know what they look like I had chosen the puppy I wanted to view and was all set to go get him. A couple viewed him before I did and snatched him up.
While browsing through the puppy pages I came across a lovely looking Jack Russell I showed the page to my fiancé and we went to meet him. The farm that the pup was born on is an hour away from my house so we arranged an appointment and went to view the pup this morning.
The Farmer brought the puppy out and he instantly snuggled into my neck - it was love. We paid the man and took the dog, however Louis (the puppies new name) has not had any injections yet so it will be a little while before I can take him out for walkies. So far Louis is a very good boy he goes for a wee outside and has not chewed or barked (We will see how long that lasts).

Pictures will follow :)

Book Writing

I would love to be crafty like many of the other bloggers but i was gifted with musical talent instead.

I am however gifted with a great imagination ( I am just not very good at putting a plan into action) so long story short.....

I am thinking of taking up writing. I wanted to write for fun. I was kind of inspired by the series i am reading at the moment by Addison Moore.
it made me feel like i could do this too.

So what i am wondering is if any of you guys write? Any tips?

Things that scare me when I am by myself at night time!

So last night Jon (my fiancé) was working nights and it was my first night in our new flat. We are still moving things over from our old flat and so we do not have the television on the wall. I do not usually watch a lot of television especially in the evening so I did not turn it on and here is what I realised......

I am a huge wimp!!!

Here is a list of everything that scared me.

* shadows
* that it was too quiet
* there were unusual noises
* lots of corners that bad men could hide behind
* Noises I made myself
*my phone ringing

Obviously I was a very nervous person last night but I don't know how I would cope if something actually scary happened!

What scares you at night time?

All in

Just a quick update!!!
We are now all in our new apartment, which is brilliant. So far we have had very few problems the one main problem however is that we bought a fridge from Currys and got it home unwrapped it and it was a freezer :@ aaaarrrrrrrgggggh. Not to worry though as we have time to take it back in and hopefully get the fridge that we wanted.

The new apartment is warm and bigger than our previous flat and the neighbours are very very quiet which is good for us as Jon works nights so needs it very quiet for him to sleep.

I am very excited to be in and I am sure everything will look great once we have unpacked properly and all of our things are up on the walls and in the drawers.

Getting Keys

As i mentioned in an earlier post i am moving house. tomorrow we will be receiving the keys to our new place and we can begin moving everything in.

Today we began to pack everything up into boxes ready for the move over. I was amazed that my whole life was being packed up and moved.

Moving house is a very exciting time and me and Jon will hopefully be making a home together for the next few years. (including the new little puppy we plan on getting).

This weekend me, my fiancé and our best friends took a trip to Manchester. We went to see the market which was very festive but extremely busy, we were literally walking around like sardines.

I met up with my Nana, Auntie and Cousin. We found out that my cousin is having a baby!!!!! so very exciting. we had a lovely lunch and did a lot of catching up as since i moved down south i don't see my family as much any more.

I think that Manchester is the best place to do Christmas shopping and catch up with friends.

We ate dinner at a very funky TGI Fridays and ended the night in club AXM which is an amazing place to be cheesy!!

Exciting News

So we have been having a few problems with the apartment that we rent at the moment. To name a few : Guttering, Damp and a very rude and unhelpful landlord. So long story short we started to look for a new place yesterday.

we were looking for a bigger place that allows pets. We were thinking it would take at least a month or two. we viewed three apartments and one of them was perfect!!!!!

We decided to go for it. so hopefully we will have a new and improved place before Christmas, I would agree if you said that it would be a stressful time it will be but it will be very exciting and lovely to be in a brand new place :)

Roller skating disaster

Me and a friend have been looking at fun ways to work out without having to go to the gym. She came up with the idea of roller skating at a roller disco.

Now to be honest I wasn't very excited as I'm not very good at ice skating and I imagined it would be much of the same.

We arrived at the venue and bought our tickets, swapped my comfy converse for some not so comfy blue roller skates. The hall was set out like a school disco everyone was sat around the edges so I got up.

Slowly I started to skate around the ring. About halfway around I lost control and fell to the ground. I landed straight on my tail bone owch. I got up and carried on with both my bottom and my ego bruised.

After the incident I continued skating And had lots of fun I would recommend it to anyone wanting a fun way keep fit..

Why are Mondays so bad?????

Everything seems to be so much worse on a Monday but I cant put my finger on why. I asked a few people why they thought that Mondays were so rubbish and the only real answer I got was:

Its the first day after the weekend!

This might be true for some people however I work weekends so Monday morning is not my first morning back and I still hate Mondays.
Maybe it is because we have made out that Mondays are so bad for so long that we all believe it now even if it makes no difference what day it is in our real lives.
Maybe its because we all Thank God its Friday and get excited about that day and of course we all relax on a Sunday.
Well I say that we should relax about Mondays because:

Tomorrow will be Tuesday.

and that's not so bad.
Happy Monday

National Cashew Day

So today is national Cashew day!!
(how very exciting!)
The Cashew is originally from Brazil but now is loved around the world. To honour this very special day I thought I would share a recipe that includes cashews.

Banana and Cashew cream Pie

  • Crust:
  • 1 cup chopped unsalted macadamia or cashew nuts
  • 1/2 cup flaked unsweetened coconut
  • 2 Tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1 egg white
  • .
  • Custard Filling:
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 5 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1-1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 Tablespoon unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • .
  • 1/2 cup heavy or whipping cream
  • 2 bananas
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped macadamia or cashew nuts

Prehat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Prepare the crust: Combine the
macadamia nuts, coconut, and brown sugar in a medium-size bowl. Beat the egg white until stiff, and gently fold it into the nut mixture.

Press the mixture evenly into an 8-inch pie plate, making sure the sides are thickish (the crust will shrink while baking). Bake until the crust is lightly browned, 7 minutes.

Remove the pie plate from the oven and let it cool on a rack. (The crust will tighten as it cools.)

Prepare the custard: Beat the egg yolks in a heavy medium-size saucepan. Add the cornstarch and sugar, and mix well. Then stir in the milk, salt, and butter.

Cook the egg mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it is bubbling and thick, 5 to 7 minutes.

Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the
vanilla. Transfer the mixture to a glass bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours.

Whip the cream with an electric mixer until it forms stiff peaks. Fold the whipped cream into the chilled custard.

Peel and slice 1 of the
bananas, and arrange it evenly on the bottom of the reserved crust. Spoon the filling into the crust, cover with plastic wrap, and chill for another 2 hours.

When you are ready to serve the pie, sprinkle the chopped nuts evenly over the top. Then peel and slice the remaining banana, and arrange the slices in a circle on top of the pie, with a few slices placed decoratively in the center. Serve immediately.

Yield: 6 to 8 servings

Christmas Markets!! Manchester Christmas Market

With Christmas Just around the corner I am surprisingly getting very jolly.
The smell of Christmas is what gets me really excited. For me its the smell of Hot chocolate, mulled wine, Christmas trees and fire.
With the Christmas spirit in mind I have decided to visit Manchester's Christmas market. I am going on the 30th of November so it is possibly a little bit too early but who cares. Hopefully I can pick up a few presents as well.
This year is Manchester Christmas Markets 15th anniversary and so they are doing things bigger and better than ever before.
I am hoping to get some vlog footage to put up on my you tube Channel so if you are interested please take a look.

Holiday Blues :(

For the last 2 weeks I have been on holiday from my work and although I have not spent that time doing anything particularly exciting I have had a lovely relaxing time off. I spent my time catching up on my favourite TV programs such as Hollyoaks and True Blood, Tidying the house and generally not doing much.
So I am trying to make the most of having to be there. Here is a few ideas of how I am getting through it.
* Dreaming of my next holiday in my head (and Google) - For me this is next November
* Panicking over what to get people for Christmas
* Planning what I will do once I have finished work that evening - this is a good one unless I have more work to do :(
* Pretending I enjoy my job - A little bit of positive thinking sometimes does the trick!!
What is it that you do to get through a bad day at work?

Monday, 18 November 2013

I went to lush as their Christmas range launched for this year. I wasn't intending on buying anything at all however I was not able to resist buying a few things.
firstly I bought a Big Blue bath bomb.

This Bath Bomb has been one of my favourites for a very long time and I do generally pick up one of these every time I go into lush. The big blue has seaweed in inside which releases into your bath as the bomb defuses. This bath bomb turns the water.........................BLUE (no surprise there then) but it really is a lovely feeling. kind of like having a bath in the sea.( but not in England, that's too cold).
The next bath bomb I bought was the avocado bath bomb.

this bath bomb is obviously green and smells like avocado. it has a really very strong scent which I imagine would be very pleasant in the bath, I also think that it would be very good for the skin. I have not used this bath bomb yet but I am looking forward to it.
the next two bath bombs I bought were Christmassy. the first one is the snowman.

I had seen this one online and didn't get very excited, it looks small and a bit boring however in person it is a lot larger than it looks.
the second Christmassy bath bomb that I bought was the luxury lush pud.
I thought this was the best looking bath bomb in the entire shop. it is mostly purple and white with colourful spots. I thought it smelt like lavender and Christmas. I am so excited to see what colour this turns my bath.
I also bought a soap but I can not remember what the name of it is.
I did this haul on youtube too if you would like to see that you can find it here:

work night out, poorly knee and hospital visits

Work night out

On Sunday night my work had arranged a night out to celebrate my managers birthday. We started off with food and drinks and moved on to a weatherspoons. It was great to catch up with people that I work with but don't really have the chance to have a real chat too.
With it being a Sunday night I wasn't expecting too much however it was a great night until.........

Poorly Knee

I was dancing away quite happily maybe one or two pops too many when I really hurt my knee. I was in a lot of pain however as the pain was somewhat numbed by the alcohol consumed I continued to dance and sing like a looney which is why........

Hospital Visits

My knee was very swollen and I was in a lot of pain on Monday morning so I visited the hospital, they told me that I had twisted a ligament :( and I would be on crutches for a few days. I go back tomorrow to find out how it is but it is still painful.

Earlier this year (July to be precise) I went to Longleat safari park. Visiting longleat has been on my to do list since I moved to the south west 7 years ago. My fiancé (Jon) took me and some friends to longleat for a birthday treat and I was very excited. It was however a very hot day and so the animals were not quite as excited as i was :(
we started the day quite early and the drive there was lovely, Longleat have beautiful grounds so if your not into animals it is defiantly still worth a visit just to see the house and lovely gardens.
( The lovely view driving into longleat)

The first thing we went to see was the giraffes. I thought I would be quite scared of them as I am generally afraid of large animals but they were so gentle and cheeky that I was fine. there was a baby giraffe there who kept coming up and getting visitors into trouble for stroking him. I was amazed at how big their eyes are and how long their lashes are absolutely beautiful.
There were other animals around this area such as small monkeys and tortoises. there were funny looking birds that I think are partridges, they were walking around in little groups and looked so funny I think they were one of my favourite things all day ( how sad )

The safari has lots of different animals along the route. After giraffes there were Zebras ( which are pony size rather than horse size - I didn't know this!!), flamingos and tapirs. you then enter a sort of reserve ( I think its the game reserve but I may be wrong) there were some deer but not many. Rhinos who were bathing themselves in mud - very amusing and camels. The Camels were the best part of this section as they were messing about, they were rubbing their humps on and in peoples car and sometimes attempting to sit on the bonnets - very very funny.
we skipped the monkeys as we had heard how naughty they are. Longleat have attached the bits of cars that the cheeky monkeys have managed to pull off to the sign before you enter. it looks like a car cemetery. we went straight on to feed the deer. as it was only July we got to see some very young deer that looked just like Bambi and it was very cute however it was the adults that came to feed. you are only allowed to feed the deer with the food provided ( it cost around £1 per cup) it was the best experience of the day!! the deer get right up in your car and they take the food right from your hand. their lips are so soft and they will even let you have a photo or a little stroke as long as you still have food in your hand. the trouble is getting their heads out of the car when they are done. Watch out for the antlers.
the rest of the safari section is filled with more dangerous animals such as Elephants, Tigers and wolves. unfortunately it was so hot that all of these animals were sleeping :(
In all I had a great day there and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a day out

Awake at sleep time :/

Hi all
So I'm lay here now at 3am in my nice warm bed wondering why I cannot sleep. It always seems to be the times that I have to be up early that I have trouble sleeping and believe me when I say I do not have trouble staying asleep in the mornings.

Here's my problem my fiancé is marching tomorrow for Remembrance Sunday as he does every year and I have promised I will show my support by standing out in the cold for 2 and a half hours. It will almost certainly rain and now thanks to my lack of sleep I will certainly be grumpy. This year is the first year that my little bro has taken part (he joined boys brigade) my little brother will be marching and so I really should try to be my best.

I have tried counting sheep -fail
I tried reading a book - fail (my book was too gripping)
I have tried lying with my eyes closed -fail
So I thought a little rant might release some energy and help me drift off :/ worth a shot

Anyway good night all

Celestra book series review by Addison Moore

Hi so a month or so ago I finished whatever book it was I reading and went onto my amazon looking for something else for my kindle. I have quite a mixed taste in books but it has to have something interesting about it to make me want to read it. Amazon suggested Ethereal by Addison Moore based on my previous purchases and it was free so I thought why not lets give it ago.
I'm going to try and not give too much away about the series in case anyone wants to read it but just give my opinion.
so the first book looks like this:
The cover didn't really excite me, it simple and doesn't really tell you anything about the story at all but because I read most books on my kindle it doesn't really matter about the cover once the purchase has been made. I imagine that in paper form the book wouldn't be very big.
the series is about a young girl named Skyla Messenger who moved to an island when her dad died in an accident. She has a secret that links her with two boys Gage and Logan who are brothers.
from the outset I wasn't very interested in this book, most young adult books make for easy enjoyable reading but I thought this book started off quite childish. that said I am now an addict!!!!
there is a special love triangle in the first book that kept me wondering who she would choose which only got better as the series has gone on. the concept behind the book is something I have not read much on and so that is also very interesting. Addison Moore has used a great amount of imagination to write this book which has love, action, death and a who lot of magical happenings.
There are moments that I get a little bit bored reading about Skyla's life but as soon as this happens something exciting happens and grasps my interest. I am now on the 4th book of the series and I think I will end up reading the whole lot and possibly more by Addison Moore.
If anyone else has read these books let me know what you think. or if there is any other books you suggest let me know that too.

Time flys!!!

So I was hanging out with my 9 year old brother this evening and thinking about how grown up he is. Reminiscing on times when he was little (and much more easily amused with childish games). he asked a lot less questions that I am un prepared to answer such as: Do you believe in God?.........erm and what about aliens :s but it got me thinking about how quickly time passes.
This year has flown by so quickly that I have not even noticed the fun things I have been doing so here is my chance to recap and remind myself and anyone else that is interested.
I got engaged at Christmas time so me and my fiancé started the year off by scouting out wedding venues. we saw a few different venues but when we saw 'the one' we just knew. The venue is a mix between a princess castle and Hogwarts ( odd mix I know but its beautiful).
The planning seemed to go mental from there really. We set a budget, chose the cake from a lovely lady called Jo at the fairy cakery -, and started to look at rings and decide on the honeymoon and the DJ etc.
I turned 25 which I was not very happy about originally but I have come to the conclusion that age in fact is just a number. My birthday this year was actually amazing and I was taken on my first trip to Longleat to see the animals. The penguins had just arrived and still had all of their baby feathers, they were beautifully cute. I had an amazing birthday week and I am so grateful for everybody who spoilt me rotten.
In September I was taken to Saint Malo - France by my lovely fiancé and had a fantastic time. We visited Mont Saint Michael and Cancale, we tried Oysters on the sea front (Which I was not very impressed with :p yuck) and mussels. We had a great time just being away from it all, letting life slow down around us and enjoy the simple things.
And as soon as you blink Christmas is creeping up on us and before you know it 2014 will be here and I will be wondering where that year went.
I guess what I am saying is that with all these great big things to look forward to (my wedding, my best friends wedding, honeymoon) I want to make sure that I am making the most of every second, be it sitting with my family doing nothing or doing the most exciting things in the world.

Nice and easy

After 3 months of mahogany hair I had decided that I was keeping the same colour for a long time. However I went into boots today (a well known health and beauty store in the Uk) and walking down the hair dye isle I decided it was time for a change. I chose a Nice and Easy natural brown.

I wasn't expecting too much as I know it can be tricky to get rid of any kind of red but I thought I would give it a go.

I have used home dye brands before and find Nice and easy one of the easiest dyes to use. It is not as thick like a foam so you can really feel where you have missed. The dye does have a really strong smell.

Here is a before picture:
As you can tell my hair was pretty red before.

As you can see there is still a red hint but I like the more toned down colour

Canon SX160

Today I have treated myself to a new compact camera. I chose the Canon SX160 IS for no particular reason other than I liked the size and weight of the camera. It came boxed like this:
The set up was really easy, it has lots of different options and a lovely little flash.
The camera has a 16x zoom and it manages to focus really easily.

I love it
